C4 Retreat Prayers

26 September 2007

Logo
This past weekend was the C4 fall retreat at High Point Camp. Our theme for the weekend was Body Art: The Body of Christ Displaying the Art of His Glory. One of the many highlights included a time on Saturday night where everyone wrote out a personal prayer and a prayer for the C4 ministry. Some have asked for an opportunity to post their prayers on this blog so if you are interested, just scroll down, click on comment, and you can post your prayers and then check back to read the prayers of others.

God, my desire is to be poor in spirit, to be meek, to hunger and thirst for you, to be merciful, and to be pure in heart. Too often I try to get filled up by drinking from other cisterns, but they never bring true satisfaction. And then my interaction with others shows my lack of meekness, gentleness, and humility. I ask that you would bring honor and glory to yourself by bringing about this change in my life.
    - Amen

    Fist my personal prayer
    Lord,
I thank You for Your word, Your love, and Your grace in my life. Thank you for bringing me from despair and depression and anxiety to new opportunities to love and serve You. I ask that You would help me to find practical ways to stay pure in all aspects: mind, body, motives, and life. Lord help me to submit and be willing to take a back seat not because I’m not capable of fighting or standing up for myself but rather because I choose to not fight or just walk away. Help me to seek wisdom from You like I seek air when I’m swimming, because Your word says in Jeremiah 29:13-14a…”You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. I will be found by you…” Lord I know I am unworthy of anything from You. It is only by Your grace I am saved not of myself, I am an undeserving man not worthy of the unmerited favor You give me as a gift. Lord please help Me to see this world as You see it: lost and dying. As Your word says “Look to the fields, they are white and ripe with the harvest . The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” I ask you to break my heart and show me if, where, and when. Direct my future, it’s not mine anymore, its Yours. I ask for the strength to be REAL and GENUINE.. Help me to invest in ONE person this year. Help me to grow in You and to be faithful and to persevere. I know You will do all this and more through and in my life and I thank You for it in advance. All for His glory.
In Jesus’ beautiful and precious name,
    Amen.

    My C4 Prayer

I come before You Lord and lift up C4, the whole student ministry at Calvary and the church body. Lord I lift up our families, I ask you to restore broken marriages and relationships for YOUR GLORY. I ask you to break our hearts of our sin and our need for You. Also open our eyes and hearts to the state of our world. Help us as a ministry to see our world the way you do. lost and dying. Lord we need to see You. but Your word says in Matthew 5 “blessed are the poor in heart for they shall see God…” As Your word says we must be pure in heart-Lord make us pure in our motives, our thoughts, our words, and our actions.Help us to NEVER lose sight of how undeserving we are. In Romans it says “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God,” but your word gives us hope later on in Romans. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith not by works, lest any man should boast.” We are saved by grace, given as a gift, unmerited favor given as a gift to underserving men, WOW! Help us never to lose sight of the miracle of salvation. Lord bring a sense of unity of purpose and transparency to C4 so we can fully live out the Great Commission collectively and individually in our lives. Ingrain in our minds one person to minister to and invest and walk along side this year.
    In Jesus Name,
    Amen
